Only the stone walls of the country pad and its outbuildings remain.

Inside it is full of overgrown grass and bushes.

But planning permission has been granted.

So potential buyers will have to build their own roof for it.

The cottage, called Coilantogle, overlooks Loch Venachar, in Callander, north of Glasgow, Scotland.

The town is dubbed one of the ‘gateways to the Highlands’.

It comes with over two acres of land too.

It is being sold by estate agents Galbraith and advertised on Rightmove.

The nearby River Teith is renowned for its trout and salmon fishing.

Callander also has supermarkets and specialist food shops, plus a golf club and a sailing club, as reported by Luxury Property News.

The property description makes little mention of the lack of a roof.

It reads: “The plot comprises an attractive site with the foundations and walls of the former cottage.

“Access to the plot is via a private track to the south.”

It adds: “The plot was granted a certificate of lawful use or development for the alteration and extension to dwelling.

“Including reconstruction of roof and formation of new access.”
