A unique nuclear bunker has popped up on the market – and it’s perfect for Doomsday-fearing Brits.
Described as a ‘Grand Design’ property, the decommissioned bunker comes with intriguing potential.
It first opened in 1960 and was part of a network of 1,500 Cold War bunkers across the UK.

The underground monitoring posts were operated by the Royal Observer Corps, as reported by Luxury Property News.
They were built with the vision of monitoring nuclear blasts and the following fall-out in the event of bombs being dropped.
The bunker was decommissioned back in 1968 and now has the potential to be someone’s dream home.
Planning permission has been granted to convert it into a one-off large home with Cathedral-style ceilings.
The property stretches over a stunning old reservoir and 1.4 acres of land, offering breathtaking 360 degree views of the surrounding countryside.

The spot offers ample parking and garage space with a landscaped garden and tennis courts.
It is located on Stockerston Road in Uppingham, Oakham, Rutland.

SDL Property Auctions value the sale at a whopping £650,000.
The auction house stated: “A rare opportunity to purchase a large site with planning permission on one of the most desirable locations within the East Midlands.

“A stunning opportunity for a Grand Design type property.
“The property has planning permission to convert into a one off, large home with Cathedral type ceilings, large glass opening with far reaching views and will house stunning accommodation over two floors.”
