At one point, things grew so icy between the two friends that Eloise threatened to reveal Penelope’s alter ego to the entire marriage market, putting her engagement her Bridgerton beau in grave danger. Fortauntely, by the season’s end, Penelope went public as Lady Whistledown, married Colin anyway, and Eloise jetted (drove) off to Scotland with Francesca (Hannah Dodd).
All’s well that ends well, and this early look at season four has seen the pair reunited, sharing a laugh as they walk through the regency streets. ‘They’re more bonded than ever!’ showrunner Jess Brownell told Entertainment Weekly of the fan-favourite friendship. ‘Their trials and tribulations last season have added new depth to their friendship, and we’re excited for viewers to see how their relationship looks now that they’ve each grown up a little.’
While audiences will no doubt be relieved to hear that the series regulars are retuning for season four of Bridgerton (including season two star Simone Ashley, who played Anthony Bridgerton’s wife, Kate Sharma), another set of new stills have introduced some runners and riders making their debut on the marriage mart next season. Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei play Rosamund and Posy Baek, sisters described by Bronwell as ‘perfect debutants’ thanks to a life-long education by their mother, Katie Leung’s Araminta Gun.
