Prince William has announced that his foundation Earthshot will hold its next prize ceremony in Brazil, honouring five activists who have made outstanding contributions to climate action. Friends of the royal came out in support of the cause, including David Beckham, Cate Blanchett and Heidi Klum. Robert Irwin, son of the famous zookeeper Steve Irwin, is also global ambassador for the cause, joining the starry council members for Earthshot.
It is yet to be seen whether the Prince and Princess of Wales will travel to Brazil for the ceremony; William has attended each of the award ceremonies over the last five years, whilst Kate Middleton has chosen to attend on a number of occasions. The Princess joined the Prince in London in 2021, and again in Boston the following year; however, she missed the 2024 awards amidst her cancer battle.
At the time, William described how his ‘children would love to be here’, adding, ‘so would Catherine.’
